James Edward Fannon, Jr., 88, of Milford, DE formerly of Glen Mills, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2024 at home with his family and friend by his side. James was born in 1935 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late James E. Fannon, Sr. and Helene (Barris) Fannon.
James graduated Southern High School, received a full scholarship from Maryland Institute College of Art. With an early career in Broadcast Advertising, James ventured onto a long successful career as a consultant for the Department of Energy, Bechtel, Peabody, Dupont, Schneider, Zurn and Duffy Group & Associates in the Nuclear Power and Waste Industry.
James was involved with many organizations such as the Baltimore Colts, Knights of Columbus, Ancient Order of Hibernians. James was an Alter boy, Boy Scout Leader, and became an Ordained Minister to preside the nuptials of his granddaughter, Jaimie and Tim. When Jim wasn’t working, he loved being on the water and enjoyed sailing and boating the Chesapeake Bay whenever possible.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years Mary Julia (Hurley) Fannon; and grandmother Marie Barris.
He is survived by his sons, Mark Sr (wife Susan) , and Jeffrey (wife Ellen) Fannon and daughter Kimberly Ternes, brothers William (Pam) and Thomas (Chelli) Fannon, Grandchildren Jaimie (Tim) Robison, Dominic, Jenna, Mark Jr (Andrea), Mary and Madeline Fannon, Great-Grandchildren Henry and Elliott Robison, Aubreigh, Addisyn, and William Fannon, Nephews Christoper, Ian, David and Charles Fannon, Patrick (Brenda) Hurley, and Niece Cindy Schonberger.
James will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Mary, at Holy Cross Cemetery, Baltimore, MD with a private memorial service and celebration of his life with his family.
